With the Passing of Time

\AN-ik-doht\ | noun

1 : a usually short narrative of an interesting, amusing, or biographical incident

I’ve been playing around with fanfiction for a couple of years now and actually what I think I’m doing is writing anecdotes about the characters. I had one five part piece that was as close to a story as I’ve ever come but really it was nothing more than documenting how a couple meet and fall in love. I have a couple of ideas for more substantial work but I can’t find a way of working everything out. Oh well, at least I’m writing something. Or rather, at least I was writing. Nothing doing these days.

The first link is for an Australian company called Anecdote. I believe it’s a consulting firm that helps clients be better leaders and work through changes in their companies through “business narrative” and teaching leaders to be better storytellers in an effort to inspire their staff and communicate more effectively. It’s an interesting concept; they talk a lot about group intelligence and getting organizations to collaborate better. They have a pretty extensive client list so it looks like businesses are buying into it.

The first image is from cartoonstock.com on their exotic animals gifts page (it’s the second picture on the page).

It’s cute. Not uproariously funny but then it doesn’t need to be. Maybe I’m just tired but this really doesn’t inspire anything so we’ll just leave it like that.
