Scavenger

scavenger
\SKAV-un-jer\ | noun

1 : one who collects or salvages garbage or junk
2 : an organism that typically feeds on refuse or carrion

The first site is Scavenger Backwater Motors. I’m torn between thinking of Deliverance and thinking of Viggo stopping to pick up a motor before he heads out into the backwoods for a solo fishing/camping trip. (And yes, I’ve given up pretending Mr. Mortensen isn’t on my mind all the time. *g*)

The picture:

Very beautiful, very majestic. The salmon carcass is far from appealing but it’s an eagle so who cares. I find it strange that the first picture for a word like “scavenger” would come up as an eagle. That is probably the last creature I would think of as a scavenger.

The site, however, where that picture came from is worth a browse. Some really gorgeous pictures of Alaska, like this one.

Totally stunning.
